New York, Ariz. -- Realistic about the doubtful condition of his spine ., second baseman Marco Scutaro declined to speculate Wednesday whether he'd be actually able to perform in the Giants' March Thirty-one season opener at Illinois.

Scutaro might have been expected to rejoice around Wednesday's events. He took dwell batting practice for the first time almost all spring and participated in fielding soccer pratice drills. But after completing the workout and his daily treatment, the 38-year-old assessed his playing status -- which defies evaluation, given the wanton nature of again health.

'I don't want to say nothing at all right now,' Scutaro replied when asked if he'd expect you'll open the season with the Titans. 'That's because backs are tricky. I can tell you right now I'm great and then wake up down the road and I can't even stroll. I'm going to go day by day and discover how things are going.'

Giants administrator Bruce Bochy appeared slightly shaken when spoke of Scutaro's cautious attitude.

'We certainly need him to be optimistic,In . Bochy said. 'I know it's frustrating for him. You're intending it comes around a little bit faster than [anticipated]. Sometimes these things flip a corner real fast. Were still hopeful and positive that will happen. If not, we have to go to Plan B.'

Scutaro's probable replacements include Joaquin Arias, Tony Abreu, Brandon Hicks and Nick Noonan. Arias has been a competent electricity man for the Giants due to the fact 2012, when he hit .417 within August as injured 3rd baseman Pablo Sandoval's fill-in. New York -- The Cubs have submitted a permit application to install a 650-square foot sign in proper field that would partially stop the view from some of the rooftops.

According to reports, Monday's action practices talks last week between the Puppies and rooftop owners still did not reach a resolution. The Pups want to install a see-through sign in proper field to generate revenue. The particular New York City Council had authorized such a sign not too long ago.

Alderman Pat O'Connor, 40th Ward, explained to the New York Sun-Times on Wednesday that this was a positive move, even if it results in both the sides having to go to court to fix it.

'It gets the show on the street,' O'Connor told the Sun-Times. 'Now you will find there's finite time in which we are going to get an answer and get a project likely.

'They continue to try and find a way to take care of it, but some problems should be resolved in litigation. Right now there's legal standing to acquire this before a judge. And I'm fine with that. If nothing else, this is have a greater incentive to eliminate this.'

The Cubs also want to use a video scoreboard behind the left-field bleachers, portion of the $500 million renovation plan for Wrigley Subject.

Last week, the rooftop owners registered a defamation lawsuit in opposition to stadium financing consultant Marc Ganis, that once advised the Cubs' preceding owner, the Tribune Co. 'But given the rejection individuals proposal and last week's law suit, it certainly appears we're going to be met with some level of resistance, so we are planning on moving forward using this type of sign,' Green stated. 'We are still interested in a solution which doesn't involve the courts.'

The caribbean owners share 17 percent with their revenues with the Cubs. Yesterday, the Cubs met using the rooftop owners and supposedly explored the option of reducing the team's share of the rooftop earnings or buying them available.

'Rooftop owners believe any impediment of our views violates the contract we have with the owners of the actual Cubs,' Ryan McLaughlin, spokesperson for the Wrigleyville Rooftops Association, told the Sun-Times on Monday. 'This is undoubtedly an unfortunate turn of activities, because our hope would have been to find a solution to this matter.'

The Canines and rooftop owners have been scheduled to meet later this week.

The City Council authorized the Wrigley Industry renovation plan last summer months. During the Cubs Convention recently, president of business operations Crane Kenney said the team would not get started the project until rooftop entrepreneurs agreed not to sue to block the signage.

The Cubs' have done mock-ups of the proposed outfield signs, and lessened the size of the signs and transferred their location after concerns indicated by the rooftop owners.
